Hello guys! I am stoked to tell you one of my best experiences traveling abroad, and now I am going to share my story with you when I was in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. So let's get into it!
Yeah that's me in the picture ;)
It was surreal. That was my first day in Australia and I was so glad that Theresa, my host mom, invited me to go here that evening. I can tell my face was full of joy, smiling, like I still could not believe that I made it to this country.
"Ari, are you feeling tired?"
"Not really, actually".
"Do you want to see kangaroos?"
"Yes, of course! When!?"
"This evening".
"Like today? now?"
"Yeah, we're going to meet Nicola, Ollie, and baby Erin".
"Oh yeah?! I'm so excited!"
I was very much jet lagged and so sleepy that evening. As you might know, the total hours of my travel and flights from Yogyakarta to Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne were about 22 hours. I mean I also had several nap time during the travel, but still, it was not as good as sleeping in a bed. However, I realized that I don't want to waste my time for nothing. It's the moment I had to take advantage of, and so, I said yes to this.
"Wow! This is wonderful!"
I spoke to myself in shock, knowing that I was amazed by the beauty of nature surrounding me; many trees, outdoor atmosphere, clean air, wildlife kangaroos and ducks and birds, colorful flowers, beautiful sunset, and more. Oh my God! That was the best thing to impress and start my days there!
